- The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market

- Our team tackles all of the layer 1 tasks on the satellite system
- Develop embedded software in assembly, C, and C++ in a real-time operating system environment for broadband satellite modem systems
- Write real-time critical software to augment and interact with hardware blocks such as FFT, correlator, codec, DPD, etc

Through the launch of a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites, Project Kuiper aims to give underserved and unserved communities worldwide access to high-speed, low-latency broadband internet.
You will be involved in every stage of DSP physical layer software development as a DSP Modem Embedded Software Design Engineer, from requirements to implementation and testing to operations. Every layer 1 task on the satellite system is handled by our staff.
Principal Duties
- Create embedded software for broadband satellite modem systems using assembly, C, and C++ in a real-time operating system environment.
- Create vital real-time software to enhance and communicate with hardware blocks as DPD, FFT, codec, correlator, etc.
- Create system apps and device drivers for managing satellite broadband links.
- Collaborate closely with the modem and hardware teams to facilitate board bring-up, integration, and testing processes. Export Control Requirement In accordance with relevant export control laws and regulations, candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (i.e., a current Green Card holder), or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Basic Qualifications • A Master’s degree in DSP, signal processing, or a related discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree accompanied by a minimum of 2 years of experience in DSP modem or equivalent experience. • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships, encompassing code development methodologies, debugging, version control, and code maintenance. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in DSP modem development and testing. • At least 3 years of experience with wireless communication systems, including 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, or other OFDM systems.
Possessing over three years of experience in functional DSP modem blocks, including but not limited to FEC, FFTs, filters, synchronization, digital pre-distortion, multiple access, equalization, AGC, and ACM.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than three years of experience with RF hardware and its impairments
- At least two years of experience utilizing lab debugging tools and methodologies, such as emulation, signal tracing, spectrum analyzers, channel simulators, and logic analyzers
- Knowledge of ASIC design, verification, and bring-up processes
- Experience with modem system simulation using Matlab or C/C++
- A PhD in DSP, signal processing, communications systems, or a related field
