Responsibilities
- As a MDRP Threat Intelligence Analyst at Rapid7, you will be responsible for reviewing alert data to identify threat activity in customer environments
- You will be empowered to steer investigations, including everything from evidence acquisition and analysis to figuring out how the intrusion began to identify any malicious or unexpected activity related to the event
- Your colleague, a Customer Advisor, will be responsible for direct communication with the customer, and you will have fellow analysts who will be ready to help you if you encounter a problem or have a question
- Perform monitoring of alerts on areas including phishing and credential harvesting sites, and data leakage, dark web monitoring
- Write findings for each investigation, which includes your intelligence analyst findings and remediation recommendations for customers
- Research and implement new tools and data sources to expand analysis on emerging cyber threats
- Assist the internal analyst team with use case development, query development, and alert tuning
- Create new standard operating procedures to assist analysts with repeatable daily work
- Produce intelligence outputs to provide an accurate description of the current threat landscape
- Communicate with Customer Advisors on client requests for Information and investigation findings

Rapid7 is seeking a MDRP Threat Intelligence Analyst to become a part of our “Threat Command” team, enhancing our threat intelligence analysis capabilities.
About the Role
In the position of MDRP Threat Intelligence Analyst at Rapid7, your primary responsibility will be to analyze alert data to detect threat activities within customer environments. You will have the authority to lead investigations, encompassing tasks from evidence collection and analysis to determining the origins of intrusions and identifying any malicious or unexpected activities associated with the incidents. A Customer Advisor will handle direct communication with clients, while you will collaborate with fellow analysts who are available to assist you with any challenges or inquiries.
In this role, you will:
- Monitor alerts related to phishing, credential harvesting, data leakage, and dark web activities.
- Document findings for each investigation, including your intelligence analysis and remediation suggestions for clients.
- Research and implement new tools and data sources to enhance analysis of emerging cyber threats.
- Support the internal analyst team in developing use cases, crafting queries, and fine-tuning alerts.
- Establish new standard operating procedures to aid analysts in their routine tasks.
- Generate intelligence outputs that accurately depict the current threat landscape.
- Liaise with Customer Advisors regarding client information requests and investigation results.
